Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Queensland VIP Launch of Smitten Cosmetics. A cosy affair at This Must Be The Place on Ann Street, Fortitude Valley, attended by Brisbane's salon owners and beauty businesses, and freelance makeup artists. We were treated to pink lemonade and bubbles on arrival, carb and calorie free of course!
CEO and creator of Smitten Cosmetics, the effervescent Caroline Stanbury gave us a fabulous makeup demo with 5 products in 5 minutes, and an introduction to her three latest products to her range TV Coverage Foundation - Complexion Perfection, Hollywood Eyes - the latest in brow and eyeliners, and Skin Food.
Caroline's background in makeup but particularly beauty and skincare has been her vision in creating her range. She describes her products as skin food. Makeup that is designed to not only do no harm to your skin, but to actually nourish and soothe. Boasting ingredients like Jojoba, Rosehip and Vitamin E to name a few, Caroline's range is Australian Owned, Paraben and SLS free, and Not Tested on Animals, a personal fav for me.
Our evening progressed with an information session delivered by Nikki Auton, an amazing business builder and own of www.SpaSalonDivas.Com, showering us with her tips and hints on creating a "kick arse website", maintaining and delivering quality social media content, blogging (ahem)...we all need more of that right?
And finally Carlie Denise from Hearts & Heroes Style Boutique in Bakery Lane in the Valley, treated us to a special Masterclass, demonstrating the newest of the Smitten range, combined with her tips and secret recipes for a no touch up, glowing look to last your 12-16 hours! Carlie gave us her style and trend predictions for Spring and Summer with barely there looks that travel from day to night with ease, bronze used not just as contour but on the eyes and lips and warm cobalt blues for an undereye liner. Carlie's signature base perfection #charliessignaturefacebase created with speed and ease using Smitten's line, celebrates skin, and skin, is always in fashion.
Thank you to Caroline for extending an invitation my way, I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the goodie bag. I can't wait to get stuck into using the new products I HAD to add to my kit (who could resist!), having already used products like the Bronzer, Illuminator, Blossom, and Whipped eye paints on several photoshoots, I can certainly vouch for the effortless beauty these products provide. Ask me about how you can use Smitten, next time you're in my makeup chair!
